Tell us about Clove Cinnamon Cardamom and how did you come up with it
When the pandemic engulfed the entire world, I moved back to Srinagar. After staying here for a while I realized that the food palette of the valley is a bit too monotonous for my liking. I along with my family and aunt’s family came together with this idea and we started a little kitchen to cater to this need.
We choose the name “Clove Cinnamon Cardamom” as these three spices are found in a lot of Kashmiri food and other Indian foods as well. These spices are something that everyone can associate with, even if they have no familiarity with the cuisine they are having.
What do you think sets you apart from other food services in valley
Our USP is our family. Everything in “Clove Cinnamon Cardamom” is done by the family, be it cooking, packaging, or delivering. Our dishes are made with the same things that we make our home food with. We give everything we make a personal and homely touch.
All thanks to Almighty the response has been great till now.
Tell us what all is popular on the menu
Even though we have a good response for Butter Chicken, Laal Maas and Hyderabadi Hari Mirch Chicken, the demand for Sukhe Kofte has been surprisingly tremendous! Other than this our harissa is also popular amongst our customers.
What are the major challenges in your venture?
I would say the biggest 3 challenges are marketing, price rise and winters.
We are a relatively new venture so marketing our brand and getting our name to stand out takes a lot of effort. Also, we work on low margins, so due to increasing market prices we have to keep changing our prices.
Another challenge we faced was due to weather here, snow and rain cause logistic issues.
What are your future plans for Clove Cinnamon Cardamom
We have a few things planned for the summer, and even beyond. But, we are taking one step at a time. Let’s hope for the best.
